Minda Kosei Aluminum Wheels Private Ltd (MKA)

Minda Kosei Aluminum Wheels Private Ltd (MKA) was incorporated in February 2015 as joint venture between Uno Minda Ltd and Kosei, Japan for manufacturing of alloy wheel for passenger car. MKA has now become wholly owned subsidiary of Uno Minda Ltd post acquisition of remaining stake of Kosei in March 2023.

MKA is engaged in the development, manufacturing and sales of aluminum alloy wheels for passenger car OEM and aftermarket. MKA is the largest alloy wheel manufacturer for passenger cars in India. MKA has a strong local production base to offer market-leading, technology intensive Alloy wheels to India and global OEMs.

MKA has two plants in India, one plant is located in North India in Bawal, Haryana with an annual capacity of 2.1 Mn wheels and second plant is located in Dekavada, Gujarat with an annual capacity of 1.7 Mn wheels. MKA mostly uses gravity die casting technology for alloy wheel while it does have small manufacturing facility for manufacturing of alloy wheel using Low pressure die casting (LPDC) technology. It has technical licensing agreement with Dayou Global Korea for providing LPDC technology.

The Board of Directors of Uno Minda Ltd approved the scheme of amalgamation for merger of Kosei Minda Aluminum Company Private Limited, Kosei Minda Mould Private Ltd and Minda Kosei Aluminum Wheel Private Ltd with Uno Minda Ltd on 20th March 2023. The various necessary approvals from authorities and NCLT for the scheme are in process.
