Uno Minda added two wheeler Alloy wheel division by setting up green wheel plant in Supa (Ahmednagar) Maharashtra with annual capacity of approx. 3.6 Mn wheels. The plant commissioned operations in Q3 FY21.

Alloy Wheel Division - 2W has a strong local production base to offer market-leading, technology intensive 2-Wheeler Alloy Wheels to India and Global OEMs. The most important aspects of Alloy Wheel Division - 2W are,

• Implementation of fully automated Gravity Die Casting technology,
• Implementation of I-4.0 (Industry 4.0) in Aluminium Gravity Die Casting, Machining & Painting,
• Powder Coating Technology for Alloy Wheels Co-engineered by OEM (1st plant in India for 2-Wheeler Alloy Wheels)

The plant was set up basis one anchor customer however we got orders from four more OEMs by the time plant stabilised. Considering the demand, the company announced further expansion of two wheeler alloy wheel by 2.0 Mn wheels per annum at its existing Supa Plant in Maharashtra. The expansion will be commissioned in phase. The total two wheeler Alloy wheel capacity of Uno Minda group shall be 5.6 Mn wheels per annum after completion of this expansion.
